Rather than designing each independently, we consider how every element relates to the next—creating a cohesive vision that reflects who you are and how you want to live.
From ideation to completion, each decision is considered within the whole. We may begin by designing a new home or reimagining an existing one, and along the way, the landscape naturally becomes part of the vision. Rather than starting a separate creative process, we carry the thinking already established for the home into its surroundings. Layouts, colors, textures, and materials inform what happens next, with particular attention given to where the home transitions into the outdoor spaces. The result is a natural continuity between inside and out.
An integrated approach also means there is no single starting point. We may begin with the landscape, designing outdoor spaces around how you live and what you envision for your surroundings. Along the way, that vision may naturally extend inside—to a kitchen, bath, living space, or addition. Because our team considers home, interiors, and landscape together, we can carry that established vision forward rather than beginning again.

How does – "Curating one-of-a-kind environments that reflect who you are and how you want to live", work?
It begins with getting to know you. Not simply your aesthetic preferences, but how you live today, what you value, what inspires you, and how you imagine living in the years ahead.
Through conversation, observation, and exploration, we begin to uncover what feels distinctly yours. The colors and materials you are drawn to. The places you have loved. How you entertain, gather, retreat, work, rest, and spend time outdoors. Even the things you may not yet have words for become part of the creative process.
From there, we curate. Rather than beginning with a predetermined style or imposing our own, we thoughtfully bring together ideas, materials, textures, forms, furnishings, architectural details, and natural elements that tell a cohesive story. Each decision is considered not only for how it looks, but for how it contributes to the way you want to experience your home.

Integrated design requires integrated leadership. At JLF, our creative process is led by John Franco, Owner, and Chris Armfield, Executive Vice President. Together, we bring distinct areas of experience, perspective, and creative leadership to one shared purpose: curating environments that feel unmistakably personal to the people who call them home.
John leads our home design-build practice, shaping the architecture, form, function, and character of the home. Chris leads our landscape and interior design-build practices, carrying that same level of intention throughout the spaces within and surrounding it.
Our work isn't divided by where one discipline ends and another begins. We collaborate across them—considering how architecture informs an interior, how an interior transitions outdoors, and how the landscape completes and extends the experience of home.
